(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A 37-year-old tailor denied in the Court of First Instance on Wednesday the charge of groping a woman while she was trying on a skirt in the fitting room.
The Indian, who is accused of molesting a Filipina maid (25), is believed to have barged into the small room while the woman was trying on her uniform skirt.
The woman said during investigation that she had to go to the defendant's shop as he was their company's contractual tailor.
The incident took place in June around 5.30pm. The woman claimed that she was trying on the skirts that the tailor was passing on to her in the fitting room when he suddenly entered and asked whether she was done.
She yelled at him and asked him to go out but he told her that his duty was about to finish and gave her another skirt to try on and then suddenly groped her. He said he was sorry when she got upset. She reported the incident the following day at Jebel Ali police station.
