(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) ASCO, the oilfield services company based in Oman, has achieved a safety record of 494 days Lost Time Incident (LTI) Free. The record comes as ASCO marks its second anniversary of operations in the sultanate. The company has never had an LTI since commencing operations.Chris Clark, country director said, ''This is a magnificent achievement from the team. We now have a team working out in the field carrying out on-shore rig moving operations. I couldn't have asked for better.''As part of ASCO's approach to safety standards, it is about to embark on its fourth suppliers' Health and Safety' workshop in Muscat. The workshop session will gather clients and suppliers and is designed to share best practice in health and safety as well as discuss topics such as transport, competence assurance, lifting and inspection standards and safe journey management. Clark added, ''Safe working is a priority for everyone in the ASCO Group.A few years ago, we adopted the CARE programme (Contractor Assessment and Risk Evaluation). This programme brings together all our contractors to discuss best practice and what we should be doing to offer our clients the highest levels of service in health and safety practice. It's fairly unique in the marketplace and sets us apart from other logistics operators.'' ASCO will award a number of approval certificates to contractors who have completed the programme.Since commencing the programme, ASCO has awarded five certificates to companies such as TOCO, Hamdan Transport Division, HADCO and Middle East Shipping and Transport.
