(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Du has announced the successful testing of two regional firsts on its LTE 4G network. These two additions will greatly improve the user experience when launched, by adding constant connectivity to allow customers to both make calls and use their data services at the same time, and improving smartphone battery life.
In addition, du has successfully tested mobile broadband speeds of up to 300Mbps. Visitors to du's stand (#Z-F20) at GITEX Technology Week 2012 will be able to experience this speed through a hands-on demonstration.
Customers with LTE-compatible handsets, or using du's 4G LTE Internet key, can currently enjoy up to 100Mbps mobile broadband speeds. With the roll-out of the two new technologies, which du is the first in the region to successfully complete testing for, the LTE experience will be boosted even further to provide customers with an unprecedented mobile broadband connection.
"We hold our customer experience in the highest regard, and as such as constantly seeking new ways in which to improve our networks to provide them with the pinnacle of technology applications.
The successful testing of two exciting new features to achieve speeds of up to 300Mbps amongst other network advantages, is a complement to our existing capabilities. Our customers will benefit significantly from these experience-boosting features when we launch them," said Hatem Bamatraf, executive vice-president, Network Development and Operations.
He added, "While there are currently no handsets that support mobile broadband speeds of 300Mbps, we will introduce two new features soon to our 4G LTE customers, to greatly improve their experience."
