(MENAFN - Arab News) The Ministry of Water and Electricity in cooperation with the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency will organize a forum on the efficiency of electricity at Khuzami Convention Center in Riyadh on Nov. 24-27.
The four-day forum will be addressed by a number of local and foreign experts on energy affairs, renewable energy, and green and smart buildings, the Saudi Press Agency reported. It quoted the head of the organizing committee and ministry undersecretary for electricity affairs, Salih Al-Awaji, for its report.
The forum plans to focus on the newly issued regulations related to rationalization of electric consumption, efficient use of electricity, and application of thermal insulation in all new buildings, whether residential or commercial, he said.
The forum will explore global experiences on renewable energy sources and technologies, the best solutions for energy consumption, technical legislation, and health requirements adopted nationally and internationally to preserve the environment, and how to minimize gas emissions from electric and industrial plants, he said.
Al-Awaji said the forum will be attended by those working in the ministries and government departments concerned, academics, representatives of research centers, consulting and engineering offices, energy service providers, plants and contracting companies.
