Indonesia recalls 53k Toyota cars

(MENAFN) Toyota Astra Motor's marketing director, Joko Trisanyoto, stated that the carmaker has recalled 53,000 vehicles in Indonesia as a result of a problem in their master power- window switches, reported Xinhua News. Trisanyoto said that the recall covers the Yaris, Vios, Corolla Altis and Camry, made between 2006 and 2008. He added that the models that were recalled in Indonesia were made in Thailand, noting that the vehicles might have defects in the power-window switches resulting from a lack of lubrication used to smooth the master switch's movements. The director said that Toyota Astra Motor, the exclusive distributor of Toyota cars in Indonesia, would soon ask local owners of the 4 car models to go to their nearest Toyota dealer to check their cars. It is worth noting that Toyota has launched a global recall of 7.43 million cars.
