(MENAFN - Arab News) The High Commission for Riyadh Development (HCRD) has completed preparation of registration system designed for the residents in the capital that aims to link the population information such as places and their residence addresses.
The system also works to identify the mechanisms for address updating. According to HRDC, the project will boost the business, planning efforts, development and security as well as the social conditions in the capital.
A source from HCRD said that the Residential Registration System, or RRS, functions to build a database for the population and provide an accurate statistics and information relating to families. It will also work to document key information for the population, including their place of residence and addresses, while ensuring the re-registration and update information in the case of any change of residence. It also imposes order on new immigrants to the capital to register their residences in case of their permanent resettlement.
Riyadh Governor Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz, who also a president of the Supreme Committee for Urban Security in Riyadh, ordered the National Information Center or NIC at the Ministry of Interior to implement the project in collaboration with HCRD.
The same source said that as many as 16 governments agencies have participated in the preparation of the system, notably the Riyadh governorate office, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Labor, the National Information Center, Department of e-Government (Yusr) and the Department of Civil Affairs in Riyadh.
The system that will be operational within the next couple of days will be implemented to link with the private sector and the development of the business environment, in addition to a possibility of expansion of its application at the national level.
Among the most prominent sectors that are expected to contribute to the development of the new system are the security sector in the city, through its role in determining the relationship between crime, location and perpetrator. It will also determine the distribution of facilities and necessary security services, such as police stations, civil defense, headquarters, security patrols, and other authorities.
This will reduce the practice of non-appearances before government authorities such as courts by providing an accurate information on the place of involved party.
The system will also develop mechanisms for monitoring the use of land, in terms of the nature and type of uses, and ratios of vacant land and housing occupancy.
The system will also determine the percentages of residential growth and housing future in general and in a specific sectors in particular such as education. The program will provide information about the age of the population in a certain area, which forms the basis in determining the need for the construction of schools and the distribution of educational resources.
The registration system residence also will achieve better distribution of health facilities and medical staff according to their needs, and work on the monitoring the spread of diseases and epidemics on the geographical scope.
