DataDot Technology wins Ford Taiwan supply contract

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - Australia) DataDot Technology (ASX: DDT) will supply DataDotDNA whole-of-vehicle-marking to Ford Taiwan's range of vehicles, starting with the Mustang, following the execution of a supply contract. Ford Taiwan is the 15th vehicle manufacturer in Asia to adopt DataDotDNA whole-of-vehicle marking. DataDotDNA is a security identification system that uses DataDots (microdots) to protect property from theft, and has been shown to greatly reduce vehicle theft. DataDots are tiny microscopic discs that contain unique information linked to your property and you, and can be detected with a UV light. They can be brushed or sprayed onto assets, with the information easily readable using a simple magnifying device. DataDot has patented its own spray process, which can now spray a complete car in less than 60 seconds. The company recently transitioned to profitability in the last four months of the 2012 financial year, generating positive cash flow in the last quarter. During the second half of the financial year, DataDot increased revenue, realising a greater than $500,000 increase to $3.8 million over the first half of the year. The company also reduced costs, both through a reduction in head count and closure of underperforming activities which resulted in annual savings in excess of $900,000. DataDot is now targeting the burgeoning vehicle market in China to accelerate growth in this region of the vehicle marking market.
