Oman Air's passenger traffic up 40% on Salalah/Muscat route


(MENAFN) Oman Air's CEO, Wayne Pearce, stated that the carrier's passenger traffic on the Salalah/Muscat route during the months of August and September surged 40 percent to 50,000 passengers, reported Arabian Business. Pearce said that in addition to the 226 scheduled services; between August 19 and September 8, the country's flagship carrier had added additional 163 scheduled flights on the domestic route. He added that the average seat factor on the route grew to 88 percent. In the January-May period, the airline's cargo revenue hiked by 47 percent from 2011's same period, whereas cargo tonnage jumped by 33 percent. It is worth noting that Oman Air's net passenger revenue jumped by 28 percent in the first 5 months of the year, whereas passenger traffic increased by 19 percent.
