TheWeek celebrates 500 editions 

(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The 500th edition of TheWeek, Oman's first free independent English news weekly, hit the stands on Tuesday.The special anniversary edition chronicles the milestones of the publication, starting from its launch on March 12, 2003 and its continuing popularity.The cover story of the 56-page collector's issue provides an exclusive inside account of the TheWeek's evolution over the years, including the various highs and lows during the journey.Other special sections include one dedicated to those who attended the publication's launch in 2003; some of the most significant stories that were published in these nine years, readers' opinions of the weekly from the first year and 100th anniversary editions; and the announcement of winners of the three contests conducted for the 500th edition.As for one of TheWeek's most eagerly awaited elements - The Week in Town - a section titled Out and About' features the most photographed individuals who speak on how they feel about appearing so often in the publication.Published by Apex Press and Publishing, which also brings out Muscat Daily, TheWeek is the first BPA audited publication in the sultanate.
