GM to recruit 10k computer specialists

(MENAFN) General Motors (GM) is planning to recruit 10,000 computer professionals over the coming 3-5 years as its plans to establish 4 technology innovation centers in the US, reported AP. At the current time, GM recruits outside companies for most of its software development and other computer work. GM aims to develop its own cutting-edge technology, which is crucial to stay ahead of the competition. The carmaker said that one of the 4 centers would be in the Detroit suburb of Warren, Michigan, on the site of the firm's Technical Center, adding that it would recruit 1,500 computer specialists to staff the center in nearly 4 years. It is worth noting that GM announced in September that it would employ 500 computer workers at a site in Austin, Texas.
