(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) A man, who planted his mobile phone in the toilet of his workplace with the video recording on to film women colleagues, was sentenced to three years in prison followed by deportation on Sunday.
According to prosecution records, the 27-year-old Indian filmed the unaware women colleagues using the toilet with his mobile phone. The Court of First Instance convicted him of the charge of sexual assault.
Earlier, the defendant admitted to hiding the phone in the restroom with the camera on to film the women. He said he had done it four times before.
He was exposed after an Egyptian woman clerk spotted the light from the camera. The clerk said the phone was hidden under the sink. She checked the camera and found a clipping of the accused adjusting the camera.
The incident was reported to the administration and the police subsequently. She said during investigation that she had earlier seen the defendant taking the key of the employees' restroom and returning it shortly later.
