(MENAFN - Arab Times) AbdulAziz Al-Babtain Co launched a press conference on Sunday morning to announce the launch of the latest Infiniti car in the series, the luxury JX 2013. The JX is Infiniti's latest three-row seven-seater featuring the Intelligent All-Wheel Drive crossover with interior flexibility and spaciousness.
The Infiniti JX was launched at the Infiniti showroom in AlRai by Saleh Al Babtain, Vice President and CED of Al-Babtain Group, and in the presence of Kinesho Youmora, General Manager of Nissan Motors and Cameron Queen, Marketing and Sales Manager of Nissan Gulf. Mohammed Shalaby, Al-Babtain Group Operations Manager welcomed the guests and introduced the JX as the latest development in comfort and technology offered by Infiniti and Nissan Motors so far. "We are committed to providing superior service in the region," he stated, noting that the car exhibited both functionality and creativity in its design.
"Babtain is the second largest contributor to Nissan in the Gulf," said Nasser Watar, CEO of Nissan Gulf. "The luxury car segment is one of the fastest growing segments in the world, and it is a segment ready for change and bold new challenges, which the Infiniti JX aims to provide." Trevor Mann, Senior Vice President of Nissan Motors then went on to give a summary about the car's features, stating that in the past 10 years Nissan Motors has increased its sales by more than 2 million units.
Key features of the JX include ample space to accommodate adults in both the 2nd and 3rd rows of the car, and access to the 3rd row without adjustment of the child seat. In addition, there is maximal cargo volume in the back, with the capacity to fold in the rear seats and push the 2nd row seats forward. The car is equipped with an Around View Monitor and Moving Object Detection, and a Parking Guide with voice guidance and line markings. It is fitted with Bose Surround Sound speakers with the capacity to add comfort add-ins, such as wireless speakers, leather upholstery, color screens at the front and back of the vehicle, remote engine start and many more.
The design of the car centers around the idea of distinguishing itself from other seven-seaters by ensuring that optimum space and comfort is provided for all seven potential passengers. Further, the car's shape, as well as it's coefficient of drag of 0.34 makes it economical in energy consumption, along with its aerodynamic styling, with the smooth stylish lines characteristic of the Infiniti Essence concept. The JX exterior color palette includes the colors Emerald Graphite, and Diamond Slate, along with Liquid Platinum, Black Obsidian, Midnight Garnet and Moonlight White (colors that are also available on other Infiniti models).
Aside from the Parking Guide and Moving Object Detection, the JX also has a Blind-Spot Warning light system if a car is detected in the blind spot of a rear view mirror. The engine is rated at 265HP@ 6,400 rpm and 34.2kg-m @ 4,400 rpm with fuel economy rated at 10.2L/100km Highway, 13L/100km City and 11.8L/100km Combined. Using a rotary switch mounted in the center console, the driver can choose between four drive modes - Standard, Sport, Eco and Snow - depending on road and climate conditions, giving the driver the comfort of driving a sedan with the utility of a family-sized car. To conclude the conference, an honoring ceremony was held for the first 11 buyers of the Infiniti JX, amongst whom was Sheikha Hind Khaled Al-Sabah, followed by a photo-op and refreshments.
