(MENAFN - Arab News) The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) opened with positive note on its first trading day of the new week, spending most of the session above the break-even line and curving downward just before the closing bell but retreated to 6,887.97 that which was roughly where it started the day. The index traded within a range of 53 points, adding less than a single point for the entire day.
Sectoral performance was mixed, with six sectors accumulating an aggregate of 79 points and nine sectors trimming 194 points collectively. The Telecom and Real Estate sectors were major winners among sectoral indices, which marginally increased by 0.55 percent and 0.45 percent respectively.
Transport sector, on the other hand, posted the largest losses, falling 1.16 percent to close the day at 4,517.08.
Saudi Telecom Co. showed the best performance among heavyweight stocks, surging by 1.73 percent to close the day at SR 41.
The market breadth was slightly negative, with 66 stocks witnessing advances and 69 others marking a decline.
Insurance companies led the top gainer and loser charts, with Gulf General Insurance and Amana Cooperative Insurance, offsetting their performance by a maximum of 9.9 percent positive-negative change.
