(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) Kuwait will be partaking in the 94th ministerial meeting for the GCC finance and economic cooperation meeting to be held in Riyadh Saturday, said a statement here Friday.
The Finance Ministry said in a press release that Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf would be heading the delegation to the ministerial meeting.
The meeting would focus on issues regarding GCC economic cooperation, the governance of finance and monetary institutions in the region, results of the 55th meeting for governors of GCC central banks held in Kuwait, the GCC unified tax system, the Gulf unified trademark laws, in addition to other issues.
The ministry also noted that governors of central banks and Finance Ministers in the GCC would be meeting with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde on the sideline to discuss issues pertaining to recent economic happenings on a global scale.
The meeting will be followed by a joint press conference by the Saudi finance minister and Christine Lagarde.
Lagarde will then attend a meeting of the Euro Group in Luxemburg on Monday and Tuesday, said the announcement from Gerry Rice, director of the External Relations Department of the IMF.
