(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Pratheeksha Oman, a non-profit association that addresses socio-economic issues of the expatriate community, is joining hands with Muscat Daily for its recycling awareness campaign.Mohammad Iqbal, a member of the organisation, said, ''Muscat Daily is a pioneer in the field of recycling paper. We at Pratheeksha Oman found Muscat Daily's corporate social responsibility very unique. It is a wonderful idea.''It commits us to being resp-onsible and saving the environment. We have thus decided to tie up with the organisation for the process and lend them our services.''Iqbal said that talks are on among organisation members and with the Muscat Daily team on how the entire process will work out.The 22-member association will first identify locations from where old newspapers and magazines can be collected. ''Banks, schools, corporate offices, malls and residential buildings are on our target list. A volunteer will be designated for each place, and his job will be to collect papers from there once a week,'' said Najeeb K Moideen, another member.The papers will be gathered at a common place to be picked up by the Muscat Daily team. A member's warehouse in Ghala has been designated as the storage area for now.The association also plans to issue pamphlets on recycling and to keep baskets and bags in malls and other places.
