UAE- Suspect held in Indian woman's murder case 

(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The Dubai police on Friday arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of an Indian woman, who was found with her throat slit near the door of her apartment in Bur Dubai last week.

Disclosing the investigation breakthrough to a social media network, a police source said the arrested suspect is also an Indian national. The source said details of the investigation are awaited.

Preliminary investigation into the death of the woman in a residential building located at Rolla Road in Bur Dubai on September 26 had pointed to an act of murder-cum-robbery.

The body of 36-year-old M.S. from the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu was found when her husband, alerted by one of their friends staying in the building after she did not turn up to collect her son from the school bus, rushed back and opened the door.

The police, after receiving information at around 1pm, rushed to the scene and found the woman with her throat slit and lying in a pool of blood near the door of the studio apartment at Rolla Street in Bur Dubai. The weapon used was not found at the crime scene.

Her 37-year-old husband, who works as an accountant in a private company, had told the police that jewellery worth Dh14,500 which his wife had kept in the cupboard was missing.

The mother of a neighbour in their next-door flat had said that she had heard a woman crying aloud around 10-10.30am. But she said she did not open the door since she had just arrived from India for the first time early in the morning and was worried.
