(MENAFN) UK's Ted Baker stated that revenue in the first half jumped 15 percent, boosted by high US sales, reported Reuters.

The British designer clothing brand stated that retail sales in the US, the company's biggest market outside the UK, surged 53 percent to USD25.6 million, on total revenue of USD191 million.

Ted Baker, which recently opened new stores in New York, Tokyo and Beijing, posted a 7.9-percent increase in its sales in the UK and the rest of Europ.

The firm said that a quarter of its sales came from abroad, compared with 20 percent in 2011.

It added that first-half online sales hiked 82 percent, and accounted for around 5 percent of total sales.

It is worth noting that Ted Baker, which was launched in 1987 in Glasgow as a menswear brand, has about 300 stores and concessions worldwide at the current time, and plans to launch a new store in Shanghai by the end of 2012 and one in Toronto in November.
