(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Local markets are free from a recalled peanut butter manufactured by the American brand 'Trader Joe's', announced the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) in a statement released on Wednesday.
The ADFCA's inspection unit conducted an extensive field survey to ensure that the product, said to be possibly contaminated by the Salmonella bacteria, had been removed from all Abu Dhabi outlets.
Trade Joe's pulled its peanut butter from several countries after reports began to circulate about the possible contamination. The ADFCA was quick in its response to the information, stated ADFCA Director of Communications and Community Service Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa. He urged the public to report any outlets still selling the product to the Government Contact Centre at the toll-free number 800555.
Al Reyaysa confirmed that the ADFCA will continue to monitor the market and remain in communication with the global network of the International Food Safety Authorities for updates regarding the product.
