(MENAFN - Arab News) A high level-delegation from the Executive Committee of the public transport project in Makkah reviewed the experience of the High Commission for Riyadh Development (HCRD) in the field of public transport which includes the light train project Riyadh Metro and the bus network project.
The delegation that headed by mayor of Makkah, deputy governor and the secretary general of the Higher Committee for Makkah Development said they were impressed by the state-of-the-arts experience of HCRD during their visit this week.
The delegation was briefed on the findings of the study conducted by the HCRD on this sector that included a comprehensive plan on public transport in the capital, covering current and future transport requirements by establishing a complete network of bus and light trains. The plan takes into consideration the tracks, densely populated areas, traffic attraction areas, government utility areas, commercial, educational and health activity services.
The delegation viewed a documentary on technical and descriptive aspects of the project of public transport in the city. The documentary featured the HCRD experience in seeking the help of international expertise in various fields in this regard in addition to the descriptive aspects of the light train and bus projects.
The film also the administrative and sponsorship aspects of the project. In this respect, the HCRD signed contracts with international consultative offices to offer support in completing the designs, preparing the implementation documents and executing the various phases of the project.
