(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) As the Silverstone National Circuit hosts the penultimate event of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB season on October 6-7, Oman Air Racing Team driver Ahmad al Harthy is looking to tighten his grip on the lead in the Pro-Am1 class.Having sealed his tenth class victory of the season at Rockingham about a week ago, the Muscat-based racer stretched his overall lead over second-placed Oly Mortimer to 48 points. The 31 year old Omani is looking at the two successful outings at the home of the British Grand Prix a few days from now to protect that cushion.''Silverstone is going to be another big chance for me to win,'' Ahmad said. ''Silverstone is always a great track to visit and I am looking forward to being back there. The season is entering the crucial last few races, but I am still not thinking about the championship, I will just go out there and try to win both the races.''Ahmad has ten wins in his class from 16 rounds and a total of 14 podium finishes in the season so far.Pro-Am1 standings: 1 Ahmad al Harthy (141 pts), Oly Mortimer (93), Derek Pierce (82).
