GCC finance ministers meet to boost commercial cooperation


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency - Arabic) Finance Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states kicked off their 46th meeting, on Wednesday, in Riyadh to boost joint commercial cooperation in the gulf region. GCC General Secretariat Secretary General Dr. Abdul-Latif bin Rashid al-Zayani hoped in a speech he delivered on behalf of the GCC assistant secretary general for economic affairs Abdullah Al-Shibli that the meeting will see positive results that would achieve the establishment of a single economic entity and joint market in the gulf region. He added that GCC commercial committee has contributed greatly in setting up a number of specialized bodies of evaluating, controlling and monitoring such projects. The committee has also played an organizing role between government and private sectors of the GCC countries. The next phase would demand more exerting more effort, Al-Zayani noted, especially, in unifying the commercial activities' rules and regulations not only to protect the GCC consumer's rights but also to achieve food security and safety
