(MENAFN Press) Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates “

The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort's robust team renewed its focus to team expansion, appointing new talent to meet MICE demands and increase profitability of the hotel's offerings, which include the city's largest in-hotel banquet facility.

Starwood veteran Titus Rosier joins the St. Regis team as the new Director of Sales while Jeremy Canivet takes on the newly-created role of Director of Groups & Events. Combined, both gentlemen bring nearly 20 years of sales and marketing experience to Abu Dhabi's visionary luxury address which opened its doors at the end of 2011.

A Dutch national, Titus is no stranger to the UAE and GCC hospitality sector and has worked in different capacities across several Starwood properties. Prior to joining the St. Regis team, he was Director of Sales at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi where he also led the Starwood Preferred Business program as the Starwood Regional Champion. Before Abu Dhabi, Titus held various sales positions at the Le Meridien Dubai, Le Meridien Fairway, Le Meridien Al Aqah, Sheraton Bahrain, Sheraton Xi'an in China and the Golden Tulip and Tulip Inn Hotel in the Netherlands.

Swiss-educated Jeremy Canivet brings work experience from European, Middle East and Southeast Asian markets. Prior to joining St. Regis, he was Director of Sales at the InterContinental Doha where he also oversaw public relations and marketing. Canivet has also held other senior positions at The Al Bustan Palace, InterContinental in Muscat, Oman and at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, The Westin Briston Place, The Delta Chelsea and The Park Lane Hotels in Canada.

"We have renewed our focus to make more UAE residents and visitors aware of the fine offerings that we have at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort," said the hotel's General Manager John Pelling. "Titus and Jeremy bring extensive regional and international experience to our team at a time when an increased number of guests are seeking to indulge in and explore the resort's MICE facilities."

The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort boasts The Regal Ballroom, the emirate's largest banquet facility within a hotel and the city's premiere location designed to host any occasion.

With its spacious 3,000 square meters, The Regal Ballroom features a large foyer ideal for pre-function events, an adjoining ocean-view terrace and a separate VIP entrance, detached from the hotel. An ideal setting for conferences, exhibitions and grand occasions, the ballroom is equipped with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment and supported by an impressive boardroom, three meeting rooms, a majlis and an event's office.

The venue can cater to 1,700 guests for a seated gala or be divided into smaller, more intimate spaces that can accommodate 300 to 500 guests.
