Man Wanted In Several Criminal, Civil Cases Held


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Security authorities of Qatar recently arrested an Egyptian man who embezzled KD 3.5 million from the Kuwait Patients Helping Fund, reports Al-Qabas daily. Reliable sources revealed that after the Qatari authorities informed Kuwait regarding the arrest, the General Consultant Derar Al-Asousi requested the Qatari Public Prosecution to hand over the suspect to Kuwait, adding that the request was approved and legal procedures in this regard are ongoing. They further revealed that the communication was carried out confidentially during the Kuwaiti prosecutor's last official visit to Qatar, adding that the suspect had received a sentence of seven-year imprisonment. Reportedly, when the embezzlement was discovered, more than 60 employees in a local bank underwent intensive interrogations to determine the identity of the individual who transferred the funds to Egypt.
