Kuwait- Trainee wins comp

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Court of Appeals issued a verdict in favor of a National Guard trainee, who was severely injured during a training session, and obliged the General Administration of National Guard to pay a compensation of KD 50,000 to the plaintiff. According to the case files, the plaintiff was injured on April 14, 2003 during a training session when the cable he used was faulty causing him to fall and sustain several injuries and fractures throughout his body. The Court of First Instance had earlier delivered a verdict ordering a compensation of KD 30,000 to be paid to the plaintiff. However, the plaintiff was not satisfied with the verdict so he submitted an appeal on the basis that the First Instance Court committed error in applying the law. The plaintiff Attorney Nawaf Al-Mutairi said he was convinced the court would deliver a verdict in favor of his client even though the defendant tried to hide the evidences intentionally.
