USD100m earmarked to expand Iran's Lavan refinery

(MENAFN) Iran's Lavan Oil Refining Company's managing director, Mohammad-Ali Dadvar, announced that the government has earmarked around USD100 million to expand the Lavan Refinery, reported Tehran Times. Dadvar added that the amount represents 10 percent of the total budget needed to finish the expansion plan, which is expected to boost the Lavan's crude oil refining capacity to 50,000 barrels per day (bpd) from 30,000 bpd. Moreover, gasoline production will be raised to 2.8 million liters on a daily basis from 1.4 million liters, whereas natural gas output will grow to 220 tons per day by the end of autumn from 80 tons per day. It is worth noting that Dadvar told the IRNA news agency on September 21 that the refinery would begin producing 1 million liters per day of jet fuel by the next two months.
