MSM edges up; Galfar tops turnover list 

(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The Muscat Securities Market  edged up 0.09 per cent on Sunday to close at 5,534. A total of 1310 trades were executed, which generated a turnover of RO4.01mn while 18.4mn shares were exchanged over the counters.Global Finance and Investment (-1.114 per cent at 87bz) closed with highest volume for the day while Galfar Engineering, down by 1.9 per cent at 413bz, topped the list with highest turnover. Market breadth remained in favour of decliners as of the 45 securities traded 19 declined while 12 advanced and 14 stocks remained unchanged at the closing. Stocks closing as top gainers for the day were Sohar Power (5.67 per cent at RO1.547), SMN Power Holding Barka (2.44 per cent at RO4.2), Port Services Corporation (1.9 per cent at 428bz), Dhofar Cattlefeeds (2.53 per cent at 161bz) and Financial Services (1.52 per cent at 67bz)The stocks closing as top losers for the day were Al Sharqia Investment Holding (-2.91 per cent at 100bz), Al Batinah Development & Investment (-1.75 per cent at 56bz), Construction Material Industries (-1.70 per cent at 58bz) andAl Anwar Holding (-1.61 per cent at 122bz).Among the sector indices, the Financial index edged lower by 0.09 per cent  followed by the Industrial index, with losses of 0.34 per cent, while the Services index inched up by 0.70 per cent supported by gains from Renaissance Services (0.78 per cent at 515bz) and OIFC  (0.55 per cent at 184bz).By arrangement with National Bank of Oman
