(MENAFN Press) In support of Jordanian football

Amman, September 2012 - PepsiCo-Jordan, winner of the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence for two consecutive years, announced the launch of the Prince Ali Centers' tournaments, entitled PepsiCo Football League for the Gifted. PepsiCo-Jordan's sponsorship of the PepsiCo Football League for the Gifted - scheduled to kick off on 4th October, 2012 - is part of the Company's three-year strategic partnership with the Jordan Football Association (JFA).

"The PepsiCo Football League for the Gifted initiative, which has garnered widespread popularity among talented young football athletes in previous years, is aimed at instilling the values of determination and commitment among Jordanian youth. It also aims to uncover and support promising young talents in order to set Jordanian football on par with international standards," commented PepsiCo-Jordan General Manager Eng. Nidal Hamam.

"Our partnership with JFA over the past three years corresponds with our genuine interest in supporting sports and actively contributing to creating a fit and healthy generation. We would like to thank JFA for its unwavering efforts to advance Jordanian football, and are confident that this year's League will showcase young talents that are worthy of being recognized and supported," added Hamam.

In turn, JFA Vice President Mohammad Alayyan, stated, "This partnership is one we are very proud of as PepsiCo-Jordan plays a crucial role in helping JFA improve the standards of Jordanian football. PepsiCo-Jordan is a firm believer in the importance of promoting sporting activities amongst Jordanian youth, particularly football which is the number one sport in the Kingdom and across the world. We eagerly look forward to building on this partnership through which we seek to support gifted athletes and achieve further accomplishments."

The 23 participating teams representing all Prince Ali Centers across the Kingdom will be supervised by JFA and will receive professional training through high-level programs that tackle both the technical, social and mental aspects of the sport.

The participating centers are divided into four groups based on geographic location: first center covers the Southern region, which includes Karak, Tafileh, Ma'an and Aqaba; second group is the Northern A region, which comprises Al-Sareeh, Al-Turra, Jerash, Irbid, Ramtha and Al-Manshiyeh; third group is the Northern B region, which consists of Ajloun, Al-Mafraq, Al-Koura, Al-Sheikh Hussein and Kafrsoum; and the fourth and final group is the Middle region, which comprises Sahab, Deir Ala, Al-Baqa, Al-Salt, Al-Badia, Al-Rsaifeh, Madaba and Al-Polo.
