(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) At least 12 peope were killed in a chain of explosions that jolted regions skirting the Iraqi capital early on Sunday.
A security source told KUNA three civilians died and four others were wounded in blast of a car bomb near a husseiniah (Shiite mosque) in the district of Al-Hassan Al-Askari in al-Taji north of the capittal.
Minutes later, the same region was jolted with three fiery consecutive explosions, caused by booby-trapped cars, killing at least nine persons and wounding several others. The blast also damaged properties.
IN district of Al-Amel, southwest of Baghdad, four civilians were wounded in an identical bombing attack.
A police source said the bomb-rigged vehicle was parked on side of a road. Meanwhile, in the same region, gunmen armed with silencer-equipped guns killed a personnel of the Interior Ministry.
In Tarmiah, north of Baghdad, at least one civilian waS killed and two persons, including a policeman, were wounded in two bomb blasts.
