Bahrain's GFH inks deal to lead, arrange Leeds United purchase

(MENAFN) Bahrain's Gulf Finance House (GFH) said that it has inked an exclusive deal to lead and arrange the purchase of Leeds City Holdings, the parent company of UK's Leeds United Football Club, reported Arabian Business. UK regional newspaper Yorkshire Evening Post quoted Leeds United owner, Ken Bates saying that talks to sell the club were moving ahead slowly with a final deal still to be reached. He added that discussions with a Middle Eastern consortium were continuing, however, the appropriate documents have not been finalized between the lawyers yet. Even though GFH did not confirm who they were working on behalf of, previous reports suggest that Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa, a member of Bahrain's ruling family, is one of the individuals behind the approach. It is worth noting that GFH Capital Limited is a 100 percent subsidiary of Gulf House.
