(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The Oman Sports Exhibition and Conference, featuring professional clubs, global brands, sports associations, governing bodies and sports goods suppliers, will be held from February 4 to 6 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre. This will be the first such exhibition in the sultanate.Organised by Global Exhibitions and Conferences (GEC) under the aegis of Ministry of Sports Affairs (MoSA), the event will also feature a vast range of sports and fitness equipment.Speaking about the exhibition, Fahad al Raisi, director of sports development and welfare at MoSA, said, ''The expo is being organised at a time when the sultanate is attaching a lot of importance to promote sporting culture among youths. It will also give access to latest concepts in sports practices, training, health and sports medicine.''As part of this initiative, Oman had organised various sports events including Muscat Asian Beach Games, Gulf Cup Championships, Tour of Oman and motor sports competitions.A conference to be held alongside the exhibition will witness indepth discussions on latest developments and issues concerning sports.Reji George, marketing manager, GEC, said, ''The expo will see participation of at least 100 sports companies from across the world.'' C J Paul, chief executive officer of GEC, added, ''The exhibition is an opportunity for all sports-related companies to meet potential clients and to introduce latest products, equipment and services into the local market.''
