Oman- Three-day lecture on Islam held at Grand Mosque hall 

(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) A three-day lecture, The true message of Jesus Christ and all the Prophets of God,' was held at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque lecture hall on Wednesday.The lecture, attended by over 200 people, was conducted by Filipino preacher Omar Salcedo Penalber, who embraced Islam at the age of 22. He also answered queries from the audience about Islam.A majority of those who attended were women from the Mindanao region of the Philippines. More than half of them have decided to embrace the religion and will be officially ordained as Muslims soon, an organiser said. The lecture was presented in Philippine native language Tagalog.As many as 55 women are currently taking Islamic lessons at the mosque's lecture hall. ''This is the second time I attended Penalber's lecture. I have always enjoyed them, and he's more than an inspiration to me,'' said Mary Jane, who works as a domestic help in Nizwa.Joy, who works as an assistant office administrator in Muscat, said, ''I found myself more into Islam as I clearly understood its teachings and what the Q'uran says.''''I was eagerly waiting for this lecture as I had missed Penalber's visit last year,'' said Sanjana, a sales lady in Muscat.
