Zain Bahrain plans USD100m network modernisation


(MENAFN) Zain Bahrain unveiled plans to spend USD100 million to develop its existing network infrastructure over the next two years, Arabian Business reported. The company's General Manager Mohammed Zainalabedin said that the company aims at adequately service growing customer base and demand. As part of the investment a new data centre will be built, the company said, adding that it already contracted consultants to work on the project. Zain Bahrain's projects manager Adham Bardooli said the project will be completed in two phases, expecting the first phase to be operational in November, while the second will be completed by February 2013. Zain Group reported USD251.58 million net profit during the second quarter to June 30, versus USD249.95 million a year earlier.
