(MENAFN- Jordan Times) Criminal Court Prosecutor Salah Taleb on Saturday charged two men with the premeditated murder of a 22-year-old Mafraq resident, whose body was found in the Iraq Al Amir area near the capital's Wadi Seer suburb on Thursday.
The victim, who was not identified by officials, was found by a shepherd around 15 kilometres from Iraq Al Amir.
Coroners established that the victim, who had been reported missing by his family since Wednesday, was murdered with a blunt object.
"Two men, aged 22 and 23, were charged today with the murder of the victim and they confessed that it was for personal reasons," a senior official source said, without elaborating further on the motive.
In their initial confession the suspects said they picked up the victim from his university and "took him to a deserted area to discuss some issues with him", the official source told The Jordan Times.
"The men engaged in a heated argument and one of the suspects hit the victim with a blunt object on his head. The two men then placed the body in a deserted area and covered it with stones and left," the source added.
Also Saturday, Taleb charged a 24-year-old man with the premeditated murder of one of his in-laws in Maan, the source added.
The 32-year-old victim, who was not identified, received a fatal stab wound to the neck with a knife, reportedly by the suspect, who immediately turned himself in to the police, according to the source.
"The suspect and the victim had a heated argument regarding a domestic quarrel between the latter's brother-in-law and the defendant," the source said.
The suspect reportedly became enraged, grabbed a knife "and stabbed the victim in the neck, killing him instantly", according to the source.
Taleb issued orders for the three suspects in the two murders to be detained for 15 days at a correctional and rehabilitation centre pending further investigation into the cases.
