Stronger ties between UAE, Spain seen


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Preparations for the next meeting of the Joint UAE-Spain Economic Committee and ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries on Saturday were discussed by Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri and Spanish Ambassador Jose Eugenio Salarich. The outcome of the committee's last meeting was also discussed at the meeting. Non-oil trade between the UAE and Spain grew 21 per cent to more than $1.4 billion last year, according to Al Mansouri. The UAE is among Spain's major trading partners in the Gulf region, with their trade exchange growing 0.9 per cent from $1,119.3 million in 2009 to $1,129.1 million in 2011. Salarich said the UAE is among Spain's trading partners in the Middle East.
