(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A businessman went on trial on Sunday in the Court of First Instance on the charge of possession and use of narcotics. The 41-year-old Emirati was arrested outside a hotel in Bur Dubai in June and 21 pills of different types of narcotics were seized from him. Four capsules of tramadol were also found with him. A police lieutenant in the anti-narcotics department said that they were tipped off that the accused used and possessed narcotics. The police knew that he was in Bur Dubai outside a hotel. It was about 12.30pm when they found the accused near his car. He willingly produced the pills he possessed. No contraband was found in his car. He was taken to the Criminal Evidence Department for urine test. The toxicologist said that his urine sample contained traces of hashish and tramadol. The test also showed the defendant's urine sample contained traces of three other types of narcotics. The police raided his place in Abu Dhabi with a prosecution warrant but did not find any narcotics there. During the investigation, he admitted that he possessed and used drugs.
