(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Most regional stock markets ended the day higher, buoyed by the Federal Reserve's bond-buying plans to boost the US economy.Muscat Securities Market traced regional sentiments and edged higher by 0.56 per cent before closing at 5,620.70. Trading activity improved as a total of 1,983 trades were executed generating a turnover of RO5.87mn while 28.18mn shares were exchanged over the counters.Market breadth remained in favour of advancers as of the 47 securities traded for the day 25 advanced, three declined and 19 closed unchanged. Gulf Investment Services (+1.10 per cent at 92bz) closed with highest volumes, while banking sector heavyweight bank muscat (+1.08 per cent at 562bz) closed with highest turnover. The top gainers of the day were Oman United Insurance (+6.43 per cent at 182bz), Oman Investment & Finance (+4.71 per cent at 178bz), Al Omaniya Financial Services (+3.33 per cent at 310bz), Al Sharqia Investment Holding (+2.86 per cent at 108bz) and Taageer Finance (+2.42 per cent at 127bz) while the top losers were United Finance (-2.24 per cent at 131bz), Al Jazeera Steel Products (-1.69 per cent at 291bz) and Oman Chlorine (-0.59 per cent at 505bz).All the sectoral indices closed in green. The Financial index led the rally and inched up 0.71 per cent supported by gains in bank muscat, National Bank of Oman (+1.50 per cent at 270bz) and Bank Sohar (+0.74 per cent at 137bz). The Industrial index added 0.47 per cent as sector heavyweights like Galfar Engineering (+1.89 per cent at 432bz), Raysut Cement (+1.26 per cent at RO1.37) and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles (+1.05 per cent at 384bz) attracted investor interest while the Services index ended with a gain of 0.40 per cent.By arrangement with National Bank of Oman
