(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Turkey ranked the first in many agricultural products in the world.
Turkey is in the first place in production of hazelnut, apricot, fig, cherry, quince and poppy seed in the world, according to the latest figures by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
Accordingly, Turkey is on the second place in the world in production of watermelon, yellow melon, strawberry, leek and honey and it is ranked the third in production of lentil, apple, cucumber, green pepper, green beans, chestnut, pistachio and ewe milk.
Semsi Bayraktar, chairman of the Union of Turkish Agricultural Chambers, told Anadolu news agency that Turkey was included in the top ten in the world in 55 agricultural products.
Turkey had a significant role in the world agriculture trade, he added.
