Kuwait- GTD officers target reckless drivers


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Jahra securitymen arrested 11 reckless drivers and seized their vehicles during an intensive campaign that was launched against road recklessness in Jahra Governorate in compliance with directives from the Director of Jahra Security Department Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah and other top officials. The vehicles were referred to the seized-vehicles garage while the arrested individuals were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. Meanwhile, according to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, officers from General Traffic Department issued 94 citations against reckless driving and road racing, seized 28 vehicles and 4 motorbikes, and detained six individuals during impromptu campaigns that were launched on King Fahad Road and Second Ring Road. According to the press, these campaigns were launched after General Traffic Department received several complaints and appeals from citizens regarding traffic violations on the road. The department confirmed that such campaigns will continue in all areas in Kuwait to control traffic violations on the roads.
