Uzbekistan starts exporting natural gas to China

(MENAFN) Uzbekistan's state news agency UzA said that last month, the country has begun exporting natural gas to China. The agency said that the Central Asian country will boost its natural gas exports to Beijing once the third strand of a pipeline network connecting the two nations is completed. The agency didn't reveal the amount of gas the country exported to China. It is worth noting that although Uzbekistan gained its dependence from the Soviet Union when it collapsed, nevertheless, the country hasn't been able to sell its gas due to restrictions imposed by Russia's Gazprom, and the recent move is expected to irritate the Russian Federation.
