(MENAFN - Arab Times) Kuwait Society for Human Rights expressed sorrow over the deterioration of the political stability of the nation and speculated about the statement issued by Ministry of Interior regarding rallies organized by citizens, lawmakers and youth blocs in Erada Square, rep-orts Alam Alyawm daily.
It stressed the importance of freedom of expression guaranteed by the Kuwaiti Constitution in 1962, indicating that a team from the society will be present at Erada Square to monitor the situation.
It hoped that the Ministry of Interior will be present at the location only to protect the citizens and not to intimidate them, adding that it is essential to avoid provocative or humiliating language.
Meanwhile, a group of individuals from youth movements, who call themselves 'Youths of Change', announced that they will hold discussions at Erada Square on Saturdays and Wednesdays starting from Sept 25, the day when the Constitutional Court will issue its verdict on the amendment of electoral constituencies.
Sources said the youths will hold such discussions to achieve their demands for dissolution of the 2009 parliament and new elections based on current electoral system.
They added that the youths are also demanding for the approval of the law of the Constitutional Court that will grant citizens the right to appeal in front of it as well as the approval of the draft law that criminalizes hatred speeches.
In the same context, a large number of 'Twitter' users expressed resentment over the recent statement issued by Ministry of Interior, which indicated that citizens who bid or organize a rally or gathering without attaining a prior legal license will be fined, reports Al-Qabas daily.
They expressed their fear over the consequences of dealing with citizens particularly youths who may be forced to stay back and sleep in Erada Square in order to avoid confrontation with securitymen.
Even though the bid to sleep in Erada Square was strongly rejected by the Salafist bloc and some religious preachers, some Twitter users supported the idea of staying in Erada Square until dawn to pressurize the Ministry of Interior.
They stressed that according to Article 44 of the Constitution, individuals have the right to gather without the need for obtaining prior permission, adding that the members of the Security Force are not allowed to attend such private and public gatherings, which are allowed in line with the law.
