Jordan- Private hospitals call on Palestinian Authority to pay JD30m debt


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) Private Hospitals Association (PHA) President Fawzi Hammouri on Monday called on Palestinian Health Minister Hani Abdeen to exert efforts to pay the Palestinian Authority's outstanding debts to Jordan's private hospitals, which exceed JD30 million. During a meeting with Abdeen and an accompanying delegation, Hammouri highlighted the services and facilities provided by the PHA to Palestinian patients transferred by the Palestinian Ministry of Health. He added that some private hospitals provide Palestinian medical students with training to support the Palestinian health sector. Abdeen outlined the financial difficulties facing the Palestinian Authority, requesting that Jordanian medics be dispatched to work in Palestinian hospitals. The Palestinian minister also pledged to work on resolving the debt issue.
