Hafez discusses UAE grant to Jordan with team from Abu Dhabi fund


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) Finance Minister Suleiman Hafez on Monday met with a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development to discuss the United Arab Emirates' contribution to the Gulf grant to Jordan, which has been endorsed by the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Under the grant agreement, the UAE will contribute $1.25 billion to Jordan over the next five years to implement development projects. Discussions addressed development projects of top priority to Jordan and ways to finance them. The UAE's contribution is one tranche of a $5 billion grant for Jordan endorsed by the GCC to be extended in full by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar. Each country will pay an equal portion, under the grant agreement.
