UAE- Motorists booked for littering roads


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) As many as 743 motorists in Abu Dhabi, 673 in Al Ain and 534 in the Western Region have been booked for throwing rubbish out of vehicle windows and littering roads this year. The department released these figures on Sunday while launching the 'No to litter' campaign in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Department of Municipal Affairs in Abu Dhabi and Higher Corporation for Specialised Economic Zones. The drive which will cover all parts of the emirate, aims at spreading awareness on hazards resulting from wrong practices. The campaign launch was attended by Saif Al Shamsi, Director of the Strategic Planning Department and the Performance Department at the Waste Management Department.
