Iran, Turkey consent to convey Turkmen natural gas to Europe

(MENAFN) The National Iranian Gas Company's managing director, Javad Owji, stated that his country and Turkey have consented to transfer Turkmen gas to Europe, reported Tehran Times. Iranian Oil Minister, Rostam Qasemi, held discussions with Turkish Development Minister, Cevdet Yilmaz, early this month to boost shipments of Iranian natural gas to Ankara. On the other hand, Iran's Gas Engineering and Development Company's managing director, Alireza Gharibi, said that nearly 48 percent of the third section of the 6th cross country gas pipeline of Iran, which is designed to export natural gas to Europe through Turkey, is finished. It is worth noting that the gas pipeline will have the capacity to transport 100 million cubic meters on annual basis, once completed.
