It is a rare online forum that can actually goad a big time politician into talking about and discussing topics that he would rather avoid as users try to drill the politician with thought provoking questions and addressing issues that are integral to the society. The users on the website are young and liberal but also have strong libertarian and anti-authoritarian streaks.
Redditors are infamous for tough interlocutors as the site gravitates to the most uncomfortable and awkward questions. The site is designed in a way that it promotes those questions as the site moves the top hit question at the top of the screen. So while the politician can ignore the question it still remains on the website sitting there at the top.

Obama answered the questions without really answering them as he said Internet freedom is something I know you all care passionately about; I do too. We will fight hard to make sure that the internet remains the open forum for everybody from those who are expressing an idea to those to want to start a business. And although there will be occasional disagreements on the details of various legislative proposals, I won't stray from that principle and it will be reflected in the platform.
He answered mostly easy questions that he could do away with casually and left the tough ones. It was a less than illuminating visit from the president.
The website users wait for the President's next drop by at the site but it is unlikely that he will give a visit anytime soon as he understands well that next time he will have to answer those tough questions.
