Geodynamics completes drilling of geothermal well, preparing to start stimulation and testing

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Geodynamics (ASX: GDY) and Origin Energy (ASX: GDY) have completed drilling of theirHabanero 4 geothermal well in the Cooper Basin and are continuing preparation for stimulation and testing work. Habanero 4 is the first of three key stages in a refocused field program for the Innanmincka Deeps geothermal project. It seeks to reconnect with the stimulated fractured reservoir that was created previously. Geodynamics then plans to further stimulate and increase the areal extent of the existing reservoir from that location. The second stage is to undertake a testing program that includes open and closed loop flow trials to help gain further information about the flow characteristics of the reservoir, the temperature behaviour and the composition of reservoir fluids over time. This will lead to the commissioning and trialling of the 1 megawatt equivalent Habanero Pilot Plant. Completing these three stages will enable Geodynamics to gather sufficient drilling and engineering data required to confidently contract with a customer and move the project forward into detailed design and construction stages. Geodynmics is also planning to drill a fifth Habanero well with the goal of moving from operating in a single fracture into multiple fractures. Geodynamics has a 70% interest in the 2300 square kilometre Innamincka Deeps acreage while operator Origin holds 30%.
