(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The donors pledged support to the Yemeni government's endeavors to achieve peace, stability and prosperity in Yemen, as well as backing the GCC initiative that ended the conflict in the Arab country.
The donors welcomed the Yemeni government's short and medium-term program, as well as mechanisms of funding. The donors also highlighted role of the civil society organizations and private sector in the development of Yemen.
After the success of the interim phase, said the statement, the donors would hold another meeting to finance medium and long-term development plans.
The donors also said the Yemeni government should carry out reforms, coordinate the funding and serve the interest of the people.
They called on importance of addressing the tragic humanitarian situation in Yemen with millions of people, including women and children, being displaced and lack basic services.
