(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A delegation of 100 top US company executives and senior officials from the State department and US Chamber of Commerce will travel to Egypt to meet with the country's private sector, the State department announced Tuesday.
The September 8th trip, aimed at promoting partnership between Egypt's private sector and US businesses, follows recent US administration meetings on economic assistance to Cairo.
According to the State department, the delegation will seek to 'identify new business opportunities and partnerships for US companies, express US business confidence in Egypt, and demonstrate commitment to Egypt's long-term economic development'.
This is the largest-ever trade delegation to travel to the Middle East, which includes 50 major US companies, will be lead by US Chamber of Commerce Vice President Of Turkey Lionel Johnson and Steve Farris, Chief Executive Officer of Apache Corporation.
The US has pledged USD one billion in debt relief for Egypt. Officials say they are working on making that money available for investment capital and job creation funds.
