MSM shares advance on improved activity 

(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The local bourse added 0.19 per cent to close at 5,533.64 amid a surge in trading activity. Volumes hit 27.6mn turning over RO5.5mn with Construction Materials (4.48 per cent at 65bz), Oman Fisheries (0.92 per cent at 110bz) and Al Hassan Engineering (1.21 per cent at 167bz) soaking up much of Tuesday?s activity.

The session's major gainers included Oman Cables (4 per cent at 910bz), Ahlibank (2.42 per cent at 169bz) and Oman Investment & Finance (2.33 per cent at 176bz), while stocks closing in the red included BankDhofar (-3 per cent at 388bz) and Global Financial Investment (-2.17 per cent at 90bz)

The Industrial sector index outperformed, closing up by 1.49 per cent, on the back of Galfar Engineering (1.62 per cent at 377bz) and Oman Refreshments (7.48 per cent at RO2.09).

The Services sector index also closed positive adding 0.41 per cent, while the Financial sector index slipped 0.09 per cent on weakness in BankDhofar  and National Bank of Oman (-0.38 per cent at 265bz).
