Jordan- Police foil Captagon smuggling attempt


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) Police on Monday foiled an attempt to smuggle 65,000 Captagon pills into a neighbouring country, according to the Public Security Department (PSD). The Anti-Narcotics Department received a tip that an Arab national was planning to smuggle a large quantity of pills to a nearby country and PSD personnel tracked down the suspect and seized the pills, which were hidden inside his vehicle. The case was referred to the prosecutor general. Also on Monday, the Jordan Customs Department (JCD) foiled an attempt to smuggle fireworks at the Aqaba Customs Centre. JCD Director General Ghaleb Sarayreh said the fireworks were hidden inside a shipping container, adding that that the case was referred to the JCD prosecutor general.
